Technical work

I'm Thibauld Croonenborghs, a data platform architect at AE. I work across data platforms, architecture, and engineering.

I started at the Belgian Royal Military Academy, working at the Belgian Defence, but the passion for software engineering grew when I first touched a database and wrote a SQL query. I started studying software engineering, transitioned to the private sector, grew a specific passion for data and never looked back.

These days, I work with Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure, Spark and everything revolving around data platforms. I especially enjoy Python and Spark, and I love sharing my knowledge about the practical side of data engineering: performance, architecture, CI/CD, and choosing the right tool for the job.
